This series has many loyal devotees, including former Vogue culture editor Estelle Tang; and while it’s not entirely about dating—it’s half game show, with contestants competing for a cash prize—it’s still fairly flirty. Ultimately, though, all of its technological bells and whistles just proved too much for me. Hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, this series follows 30 men and women as they speed-date to find true love in “pods” where they can hear, but not see, each other. Great fun all around, even if the I Like Fishing And Horses And Maybe 3 People Shirt it is in the first place but mention of “pods” is a little triggering after one-and-a-half-plus years of COVID-19. A classic for a reason, this series—in which a large and varied group of men competes for the affections of one lucky girl—has been known to quite literally bring a tear to my eye. It’s not my fault! It gets really emotional sometimes. That said, if the guy in the cat costume doesn’t get dismissed from Season 17 soon, I will mutiny.  For my money, there’s simply no better reality TV franchise (or better collection of accents from all across the United Kingdom). Hey, Upper East Siders; let’s talk about Gossip Girl. The reboot, already one of the I Like Fishing And Horses And Maybe 3 People Shirt it is in the first place but buzziest shows of the year, will debut on July 8. In anticipation, Vogue checked in with one of its stars, former fashion blogger and Rookie editor-turned-actor Tavi Gevinson, and asked her to answer our 73 Questions. She dished on what her favorite wardrobe pieces are, what her character on the show will be like, and what her favorite app is (Venmo, where she judges everyone’s spending).  Answering live from the set of Gossip Girl—sadly, no, the Constance Billard School for Girls is not a real private school—Gevinson began the 73 Questions by sharing some of her favorite fashion finds of all time. Her best vintage score? That would be a lipstick-print Prada skirt she found on eBay. Her favorite Fashion Week experience from her blogger and Rookie days? “A lot of Rodarte shows have made me cry,” she says. Her riskiest fashion choice, meanwhile, was wearing a coat hanger as a necklace. “It was a lot, and dangerous,” she says (a runner-up was the time she wore tights as a belt).  Gevinson also touched on her craft as an actor. Since making her big movie debut in 2013’s Enough Said, she’s gone on to be in Broadway’s This Is Our Youth and The Crucible. When asked what the biggest difference is between performing for the camera versus a theater, she quipped “Cameras steal your soul.” Vogue also asked Gevinson to share any and all details about her new Gossip Girl character, reportedly a teacher at Constance Billard. “She’s ambitious, and looks like me,” Gevinson says, remaining tight-lipped. Is she possibly the Gossip Girl? Gevinson shrugs, “There’s a chance any of them are Gossip Girl.” We’ll just have to wait and see.
